"CC Ritika Bhabhi": Chahal's Hilarious Wish On Rohit's Birthday Is Viral
India's all-format skipper Rohit Sharma turned 36 on Sunday. This right-handed batter has entertained and mesmerised audiences worldwide with his classy strokeplay and calm mindset while batting or captaining his side. On the occasion of his 36th birthday, fans and fellow cricketers took to social media to extend birthday greetings. However, a specific greeting that has gone viral on the internet is from India and Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Rohit and Chahal share a vibrant bond that has been witnessed by fans on a number of occasions, both on the field and on social media. This was another occasion.
"Happy Birthday to my favourite best brother in the whole world @ImRo45 happiest birthday To my guiding light , my best friend, the person who makes me laugh more than anyone else in the world Happy Birthday Rohitaaaaaa shramaaaa CC:- Ritika bhabhi," Chahal tweeted.

Rohit is considered among the best players of Pull shot in the game, often employing it during powerplay overs in white-ball cricket. But there is also a patient and determined side of him visible when he dons the white colours. This versatility makes him a perfect all-format batter of the modern era.
Rohit made his international cricket debut in 2007. He impressed in his first high-profile outing of that year, the ICC T20 World Cup 2007. He scored 88 runs in three matches and stayed unbeaten in all three games. He started off with a fifty against Ireland and provided a valuable contribution to his side's win with a 16-ball 30* against arch-rivals Pakistan in the final.
Since then, he has evolved into one of the sport's deadly willow wielders. The batter used to play in the middle order for the first six years of his career. But the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, where he got a chance to open with Shikhar Dhawan, sent his career graph on a massive upward trajectory. He scored 177 runs in five innings at an average of 35.40 with two half-centuries in that tournament, which India won.
A shot at opening the innings was a success and it transformed Rohit into one of the most destructive batters in the modern era. In 243 ODIs, he has scored 9.825 runs at an average of 48.63. He has 30 centuries and 48 fifties in the format, with 264 being his best individual score, which is also the best score in ODI cricket history. Rohit is also the only batter to have scored three double centuries in ODI cricket. Rohit's ODI runs have come at a strike rate of 90.02.
He is the 15th-highest scorer in ODI cricket and the sixth-highest run-scorer among Indians, behind MS Dhoni (10,599), Rahul Dravid (10,768), Sourav Ganguly (11,221), Virat Kohli (12,898) and Sachin Tendulkar (18.426 runs).

"We Can't Be This Sloppy": Rana's Brutal KKR Assessment After GT Defeat
Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Nitish Rana was extremely critical of his side and he lamented the lack of partnerships during the loss against Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Saturday. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was in sparkling form with an explosive 81 but the other batters were unable to play big knocks and as a result, KKR fell 10-20 runs short of a competitive total. Rana said that his side was ‘sloppy' and pointed out that they will have to “do well in these little moments”.
“I think we were 20-25 runs short, up against top teams, we can't be this sloppy with the bat. We didn't get partnerships developing, other than Gurbaz and Russell, no one else, including me, scored. If we got a good partnership in the middle overs, we could have done better. In crucial games and against top oppositions, you need to do all the basics well in all the three departments of the game. The batting was ok today, but we didn't bowl well. Need to do well in the small moments, bowl according to the plan and do the basics well,” Rana said at the post-match press conference.
Put to bat first by GT, KKR put up a competitive total of 179/7 in their 20 overs. Wickets kept falling for KKR, but Rahmanullah Gurbaz kept the other end steady with an explosive knock of 81 runs in 39 balls, which consisted of five fours and seven sixes. At the end, an entertaining cameo from Andre Russell (34 off 19 balls, with two fours and three sixes) pushed KKR to a competitive score.
Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers for GT, taking 3/33 in his four overs. Joshua Little (2/25) and Noor Ahmed (2/21) also delivered economical four-over spells.
However, it was an off day for Rashid as he gave away 54 runs in four overs without any wickets, with an economy rate of 13.50.
In the chase of 180, Shubman Gill started really well. He played a knock of 49 in 35 balls, consisting of eight fours. He was supported well by skipper Hardik Pandya, who scored 26 off 20 balls, with two fours and a six and put on a 50-run stand for the second wicket. After they both were dismissed, GT was reduced to 93/3 in 11.2 overs.
The duo of Vijay Shankar (51* in 24 balls, with two fours and five sixes) and David Miller (32* in 18 balls with two fours and two sixes) helped GT seal a seven-wicket win with 13 balls to go.
Sunil Narine, Harshit Rana and Andre Russell got a wicket each.
Joshua Little was named as the 'Player of the Match' for his spell of 2/25.
With this win, GT are the new table-toppers with 12 points, having won six matches out of eight. KKR are at the seventh position with three wins and six losses.

"Want To Marry, Not Date": Chahal On Proposing Dhanashree. She Said, "No"
Far from the focus on the cricket field, the personal lives of Indian cricketers also get equal following. Wherever they go the spotlight follows. Same is the case with star India and Rajsthan Royals leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma. The duo first met virtually during COVID lockdown as Chahal was taking dance lessons from Dhanashree, who is a very popular dancer and has a very big following on social media.
As interaction between the two increased, it finally resulted in the duo getting married in December 2020. Chahal has now recounted a funny incident about his wedding proposal to Dhanashree.
"When the lockdown happened. I stayed with my family. It was for the first time that I stayed at my Gurugram home for so long. Almost three-four months. I enjoyed the time with my family and my pets. Then, it occurred to me that I always had this despite to learn dancing. Then I got suggestion that Dhanashree gave online classes. So I took online classes for two months," Chahal said in an interview on 'Humans of Bombay' YouTube channel.
Then one day I Asked her 'why are you so happy in life?' She replied, 'I am like that only. I seek happiness in small things in life'. I got the right vibes and I told my family. I told her 'I want to marry you, don't want to date you. I don't want to waste time in dating. I was 30 then. She said, 'No, I want to meet you first.' We never met before that. We met in Mumbai and then she said, 'ok, now, yes, fine.'"
Chahal is currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and is one of leading wicket-takers.

"I've Told Mahi Bhai...": Jadeja On Two Major Influences On His Career
Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja opened up about his cricketing journey and how his career has been influenced by two “Mahendras” – skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his childhood coach Mahendra Singh Chouhan. Jadeja started playing cricket in Jamnagar when he was just eight years old and went on to play U-19 cricket for India. He excelled first as a spinner and then as an all-rounder for India and much of his success came under the captaincy of MS Dhoni – both for India and in the Indian Premier League.
“I have told Mahi bhai this as well that, meri cricket ki journey Mahendra Singh Chouhan aur Mahendra Singh Dhoni ke beech me hi rahi hai. That is where my cricket journey started. I started in 1996 when I was eight years old in Jamnagar. Even now I sometimes go that ground to meet sir, practice cannot happen because there are about 300 to 400 kids there so it can become a big crowd,” Jadeja said on Star Sports.
“When I started out I wanted to become a fast bowler. I used to think seeing fast bowlers sending in bouncers that I would also be able to do that but I never had the speed. My coach Mahendra Singh Chouhan, he told me that you are not tall enough or not fast enough so please don't be under any illusions. At the time I thought, yes I don't have the height that is required. Then I started bowling left arm spin,” he said.
Jadeja also shared an interesting anecdote about how he developed a taste for spin bowling.
“At the time we were not able to bat too much because the turf wicket was not good. On the other hand when the ball hits a rough and turns a lot, your interest to do that again increases. If you see that you are getting the batter out with big spin, your interest in spin bowling increases and so I started getting more interested in it. It was upto us to make and maintain the wicket and the batter himself had to roll the wickets and stuff. So I thought I don't want to do all that, I will just stand there with the ball in hand and when the wicket is ready, I will bowl,” said Jadeja.

Never Before In IPL! Like Arjun, Another MI Star Scripts 'Historic First'
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders saw history being made as Arjun Tendulkar made his debut for the 5-time champions. Since being first bought by the franchise in 2021, Arjun featured for MI for the first time in his career, following the footsteps of his father Sachin Tendulkar who played for the franchise from 2008 to 2010. But, it was not just the Sachin-Arjun pair that made history in the league on Sunday. Even the name of Duan Jansen, the South African pacer snapped up by Mumbai, went into history books.
Duan, who was bought by Mumbai Indians for his base price of INR 20 lakh in the IPL 2023 auction, is the brother of Marco Jansen, the all-rounder who is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. In fact, Marco had also made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2021 before being snapped up by the Hyderabad franchise in 2022.
While both brothers are playing in the IPL now, Marco has already represented South Africa in the senior national team, Duan is yet to play for his country at the absolute top.
Duan is yet to represent South Africa at the international level. He has 36 wickets in 20 first-class matches along with 540 runs and four half-centuries at an average of above 22. He has 19 wickets in 16 List-A matches along with 99 runs in 11 innings. He has taken 24 wickets in 31 T20s and has 266 runs at an average of 19.00 in 21 innings.
His brother Marco Jansen has represented Mumbai Indians (MI) and is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL.
Marco has played a total of 12 IPL matches, in which he has taken 13 wickets at an average of 28.62 and an economy rate of 8.27. His best bowling figures in the IPL are 3/25.

Venkatesh Iyer Credits Maiden IPL Century To This Ex India Star
Having blasted a scintillating 104 in his "comeback" IPL following a long injury lay-off, Kolkata Knight Riders batter Venkatesh Iyer on Sunday dedicated his maiden century to assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. The 28-year-old from Indore was in good form during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in October last year before he tripped off a staircase and twisted his ankle, the injury cutting his domestic season short. He underwent a surgery and then spent many months at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to get back to his full fitness.
"IPL is a comeback tournament. I broke my left ankle six months back - the subtalar joint had come out - and it was a freakish accident. But I am fortunate to be under a system where the BCCI takes care of me," he told the media after the match.
"Everything was taken care of and I was at the NCA for four to five months. All the doctors and trainers were very cooperative and they helped me come out of this space.
"A lot of doctors told me that I would not be able to run as fast as I normally would. I would feel disappointed but I am happy that I am back on the field and doing what I love the most and contributing to the team." On Sunday, Iyer smacked nine sixes and six fours during his 51- ball knock but his effort was not enough as Mumbai Indians recorded a five-wicket win chasing 186 here at the Wankhede Stadium.
"One name worth mentioning here is Abhishek Nayar. He has worked with my batting day in and day out and not just batting, also my approach towards the game. I credit this century to him.
"As far as Chandu sir goes, I have been working with him for three years and I am happy that his tactics are now at an international level,” he said.
Iyer, who donned the Orange Cap on Sunday, said it was important for him to ease into the role of new No 3 given that KKR are without their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer.
"Shreyas is not in the team, he is injured and someone had to take up the role of No 3 which is an important role. I have maintained that I want to be flexible as a cricketer.
"When he (coach) told me that I have to bat at No 3, the intent did not change; you have to go after the bowling in the powerplay and once I analyse that the ball is not swinging, I take my chances and get the team off to a flier.
"The tactics are defined then and there, this is a red soil pitch so I had to play much squarer and not straighter,” he said.
Iyer said KKR were outbatted by MI, for whom Ishan Kishan scored 58 and Suryakumar Yadav hit 43.
"The way MI hit the ball I felt the wicket got better but you have to give the credit where it is due. They batted really well and the most important aspect was the start that they got.
"In hindsight we can talk about scoring 15-20 runs less and the wicket getting better but they outbatted us,” he said.
Iyer said he would go for scans after copping a blow off a Cameron Green delivery while batting but hoped to be fine.
MI's Tim David said the team was happy with Suryakumar striking form with the bat.
"It was awesome to have two (wins) in a row. We have some momentum for our team now. He had the same look in his eye since I have known him.
"Like I said, we are just waiting for him to put in his performances and it was awesome to see the ball coming out of the middle of his bat, (he hit) some big sixes and we enjoyed it." David praised Iyer for scoring his maiden ton.
"He played a great innings. He started so quickly and any time a player gets a hundred it is pretty special. For him to play that way I am sure he feels really good about it. But for us to overcome a century and win the game was really pleasing," he said.

MI Predicted XI vs KKR, IPL 2023: Will Rohit And Co. Make Any Changes?
Mumbai Indians will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their IPL 2023 match on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After facing consecutive defeats in their first two matches, the Rohit Sharma-led side registered it's first win after they defeated Delhi Capitals in their previous match. MI, who are already dealing with the absence of their senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah, are also missing out on the services of pacer Jofra Archer, who has been out of action, since the campaign opener.
Rohit Sharma made a match-winning 65 against Delhi Capitals but the challenge for the MI captain will be to attain consistency, especially when the other senior, Suryakumar Yadav, is going through a lean patch.
Mumbai Indians are likely to be without their ace pacer Jofra Archer, who has been sidelined by fresh elbow trouble post his appearance in the first match of the season. Jason Behrendorff and Riley Meredith will have to shoulder the responsibility in the fast-bowling department, while Piyush Chawla will be expected to carry forward his form from the previous game where he took 3/22.
MI will bank on their young guns Tim David, Cameron Green, Tilak Varma and Ishan Kishan to fire, given that KKR have shown incredible fight right till the end to pull off a stunning win against Gujarat Titans, and fight till the last ball against SRH.
Rinku Singh will be the biggest threat with the bat for MI since the left-hander has smacked an unbeaten 48 and 58 in his last two outings batting at No 7.
MI Predicted XI vs KKR: Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Cameron Green, Nehal Wadhera, Kumar Kartikeya, Riley Meredith, Arshad Khan, Piyush Chawla, Jason Behrendorff

Watch: Virat Kohli's Special Gesture For Wife Anushka Leaves Her Blushing
Royal Challengers Bangalore returned to winning ways after they defeated Delhi Capitals by 23 runs on Saturday. Playing at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, RCB posted a total of 174/6 as star batter Virat Kohli smashed his fifty of the season. Later, the David Warner-led side was restricted to 151/9, getting their fifth defeat on trot. Apart from scoring a match-winning half-century for his team, Kohli also made a romantic move towards his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, which took the internet by storm.
After the match ended in RCB's favour, a video went viral on social media, where the former India skipper was seen making some sweet hand gestures to Anushka, who was watching him from the stands. Kohli's gestures left the actress blushing as she adorably smiled.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma after the yesterday's match - This is so cute and beautiful.pic.twitter.com/OIh7SF1b0t
— CricketMAN2 (@ImTanujSingh) April 16, 2023
Kohli and Anushka are one of the most well-known celebrity couples in the country. The pair tied the knot in December 2017 and were blessed with a baby girl, Vamika, in January 2021.
Coming to the match, Vijaykumar Vyshak claimed three wickets on debut to complement Virat Kohli's imperious fifty as Royal Challengers Bangalore returned to winning ways with a dominant 23-run victory over Delhi Capitals.
Kohli (50 off 34 balls) slammed his third fifty in four innings -- with the help of six boundaries and a six -- before left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav (4-1-23-2) led Delhi Capitals' charge in the middle overs to restrict RCB to 174/6 after David Warner opted to bowl.
The bottom-placed Delhi side, who came into the match after four losses on the trot, then made a mockery of the 175-run chase as they were restricted to 151/9 in the stipulated 20 overs.
